Mark E Astill

Mr. Astill is one of the co-founders of NanoSpot.AI.  He has been involved with Laboratory Diagnostics for the last 40+ years.  He was the Associate Director of Becton Dickinson Advanced Diagnostics for 9 years, a co-founder, Board Member, and Director of R&D for TSA Technologies for 4 years, and the Director of R&D and Reagent Manufacturing at ARUP Laboratories Inc. for more than 30 years, retiring in 2022. 

He is the co-inventor of 5 issued patents, the author or co-author of 20 peer-reviewed publications, and 19 presentations at scientific meetings over his career.  He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees (BS in Genetics and MSc in Clinical Chemistry) from the University of Utah.

He is the devoted grandfather of 24 grandchildren and enjoys running having completed 10 marathons including the Boston Marathon over the last 20+ years. 

His extensive experience in the field of Laboratory Diagnostics and entrepreneurial start-ups provides a seasoned view of the potential and pitfalls of Point of Care (POC) testing.
